Hydraulic Snubbing units Offshore & Onshore

A snubbing unit is a hydraulic rig that can do everything a rig can do, in addition to performing under pressure in an underbalanced live well state.

With the use of the snubbing unit’s hydraulic rotary, the unit can be employed for fishing, milling, drilling, side tracking or any task needed to remove bridge plugs, cement, or deepen wells.

Snubbing Units are used to drive pipe into a well bore and overcome well pressure that prevents use of conventional drill rig operations.

They consist of hydraulic machinery to provide force on the drill string, as well as hydraulic jacks, slips, and a high basket that serves as the control post. The use of hydraulic jacks along with stationary and traveling slips allows operators to run the drill string on a live well, a well under pressure.

The snubbing unit advances or retracts the drill string as it experiences light-pipe or heavy-pipe conditions.
